Halebop Un-matching People

Most of us spend our days surrounded by people who look like us, think like us and agree with us. Halebop, a Swedish telecom operator, wanted to change that by getting people to really talk again: discuss, argue, fight, become friends or simply agree to disagree.

So we created the Un-matcher, a phone service that does the opposite of every dating app. Instead of finding someone just like you, it finds someone who thinks nothing like you. Complete a quick online test and some tension creating questions and after a while when the service has analysed your answers you get to talk on the phone with your un-match. If the conversation doesn’t flow, just tap the star on your phone, the un-match will recite a new topic for the users to discuss.

To inspire even more people to step outside their bubble, we paired up some of Sweden’s most famous chatterboxes, people we knew would clash, and let them talk through the service. The conversations turned out so surprising and engaging that we released them as a podcast series.

The result: a simple phone call that turns disagreement into conversation, and strangers into something closer to understanding.
